This role creates value out of data by helping the organization in discovering insights within vast amount of information and support in making smarter decisions to deliver better products and services to get maximum revenue and customer satisfaction. The responsibility includes conducting data analysis and building moderately complex design algorithms using available statistical and analytical tools.
The position needs a combination of business focus, strong analytical and problem solving skills and programming knowledge to be able to quickly cycle hypothesis. Excellent communication skill is required to report back findings in a clear, structured manner.
Accountabilities
Business & data requirements
- Closely engage with stakeholders to identify business requirements and expected outcome; Translate the business requirements into analytical and technical requirements
- Collaborates with subject matter experts to select the relevant sources of information
- Identifies what data is available and relevant, including internal and external data sources.
- Works with IT teams to support data collection, integration and retention requirements based on input collected from the business
Analysis Process & Insights implementation
- Build and test appropriate model that gives insight or solution to a business problem
- Works in iterative process with the client and validates findings
- Employs the appropriate algorithm to discover patterns and trends
- Assist to rapidly implement insights from data that can help drive more informed decision making
Data Organization and Quality
- Analyze the volume of data supporting initiatives, the type of data and the speed of variation in data
- Assesses with the business the quality of data; supports in identifying data anomalies and errors.
- Defines the validity of the information, how long the information is meaningful, and what other information is related to.
- Systematic categorization and coding of data so it can be interpreted and used for analytical purpose
Communication
- Presents and depicts rationale of their findings in easy to understand terms for business & domain subject matter experts
- Educates the organization both from IT and business perspectives on new approaches, such as testing hypothesis and statistical validation of results.
- Helps the organization understand the principles and the math behind the process to drive organization buy-in
- Document analytics results and methodologies
Metrics & Performance
- Provides business metrics for the overall project to show improvements. Contribution to the improvement should be monitored initially and other multiple iterations
- Provides on-going tracking and monitoring of performance of decision systems and statistical models
المهارات
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, computer management or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Typically requires 3-5 years of relevant quantitative & qualitative research and analytics experience
- Experience in banking is preferred
- Ability to come up with solutions to loosely defined business problems with the use of small or large datasets
- Experience in common data science toolkits / packages such as R, Python, SAS or Alteryx
- Good scripting and programming skills
- Proficiency in applied statistics such distributions, statistical testing, regressions, etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, to be able to interact well with peers and managers and to present conclusions / ideas to audiences with no technical background
- Thorough knowledge of banking procedures, principles, functions and regulations is preferred
