Job Description

This role leads the commercial team in management of the entire Corporate Banking Group relationships of the bank for overall growth of business from the existing customers and marketing of new customers. Develops CBG business strategy and plans for growth and profitability; includes identifying target markets, developing business models, coverage models, products, investment banking, mergers & acquisitions, alliances, spin-offs, international expansion, credit approval, CBG IT infrastructure and etc.

This role is accountable for managing the Kingdom-wide Operations to ensure that it meets its objectives. Oversees the productivity and value of client relationships for strategically important accounts and customers. The emphasis at this level moves away from deep technical knowledge of specific products, services and towards ensuring that CBG targets are achieved through an understanding of the economic environment and how BSF’s products and services should be positioned. This job will also lead the marketing initiatives supporting new and existing products and services.

Accountabilities:

Strategy Formulation

  • As a member of the executive team participates and contributes to the development and refining of the vision and strategy for BSF and contributes to the overall process of management and corporate decision making to ensure the organization maximizes it’s short, medium and long term profitability and returns to its stakeholders.

Group Management

  • Leads the Corporate Banking Group, providing leadership, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards and staff pride in performance and contribution. Liaises with relevant internal and external parties to facilitate the organization’s business.  Exercises financial authority at the level delegated by the Chief Executive.

Target Markets

  • Leads and directs the identification of target markets and determining the size, sector, industry, parameters, etc. with which it will be expected the business will operate.

Business Model

  • Directs and oversees the development of business models for the various commercial operations with emphasis on structure design and interface with customers.

Coverage Model

  • Oversees the development of coverage models – interfaces with customers and structure design –for the various CBG operations such as Govt. Institutions, (SME) small/medium enterprises Corporate Banking, Community Banking & Emerging Comparators, Local, Real Estate, Construction, External Companies, Products – cash management, transactional products – Trade Finance, Project Finance, IPO’s, M&As and etc.

Corporate IT

  • Ensures development of an appropriate IT infrastructure to handle products and systems for CBG.

Credit Approval

  • Directs the process of credit approval and ensures that policies, procedures, processes are complied with and updated regularly to reflect the bank’s business strategy.

Bank Committees

 

  • Serves as member and or head of several bank committees as may be assigned, delegated by higher management.

Leadership

  • Champions and leads the process of effective group manpower planning including recruiting, training, developing and enhancing capabilities of staff; adopting and implementing relevant HR best practices and ensuring a high level of employee engagement and motivated work environment.

Return On Risk Adjusted Assets

  • Enhances the return on the Risk Adjusted Assets of the region through obtaining more collateral, cash margins, better pricing on bank assets, fee collection, cross sell of different bank products and growth in bank liabilities (Deposits such as CBDs & NCBDs).
  • Ensures that standards, processes and procedures reflect security requirements (if applicable).
  • Ensues that individuals under your teams, Group and departments accept and comply with the cyber security policy, supporting standards and procedures when they are issued and updated.

Skills

  • Bachelor degree in Finance or a Business and or commercial discipline
  • Minimum 12-15 years of Corporate Banking experience, including a substantial period of Business Banking relationship management
  • Minimum 10 years of management experience in a corporate banking/Business Banking environment in Saudi Arabia or other countries
