Head of Financial Reporting & Accounting

Head of Financial Control Department is responsible for financial reporting internal & external and:

• Provide reports to CFO on oversight and controls necessary to ensure the accuracy of financial statements
• Responsible for reporting on revenue inventories / types of risks, new investment portfolios, investment excess of capitals – bonds / structured products, interest rate risk, equity management, capital adequacy, liquidity profiles and contingency funding for BSF and joint ventures.
• Responsible communication with business lines for all finance related control and oversight activities
• Interact with internal stakeholders and function as a key member of Financial Committee as required
• Lead department managers to ensure the timely and accurate completion of deliverables

Accountabilities

• Responsible for communication with business lines for all finance related control and oversight activities
• Proactive coordination and review of all Financial Reporting and Control team deliverables, under IFRS
• This includes comprehension of all output, plus a proactive effort to improve processes, resolve inefficiencies and document tasks
• Coordination of statutory accounts production, including being the point of contact and taking responsibility for liaising with external auditors
• Regular and proactive liaison with other areas of the firm including Product Control, Regulatory Control and Front Office to ensure that interdependencies are known and addressed
• Strong understanding of roles and responsibilities of within the Finance department, other support functions and various businesses required; including a broad knowledge of financial products in order to give accurate and insightful advice.
• Produce and present regular update reports for the management on observations , controls and improvements
• Work closely with other senior management and in the overall running of business including development of short and long term financial plans and provides feedback to CFO on all accounting and financial control issues

• Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Advanced qualification like CFA, CPA or FSA will be an added advantage
• 12- 15 years of practical experience in Finance control and accounting functions in banking environment
• Knowledge of financial control framework
• Experience in risk and internal control management
• Fraud detection and prevention techniques
• Prior knowledge of general ledger oversight is preferred
• Excellent knowledge of financial services covering both retail and business banking products
• Knowledge of SAMA guidelines and Banking regulations
• Understanding of IFRS and relevant local statutory requirements
• Pressure absorbent and good management skills
• Excellent command of English language
