Job Description
Engineer business intelligence and data quality works closely with business user to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. He/she provides data that is accurate, congruent and reliable and easily accessible. Educates and trains business users to use the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new form and content for the purpose of analysis and exploring options.
The BI Engineer is responsible for the full life cycle development, implementation, production, support and performance tuning of the data mart and business intelligence reporting environment.
The responsibilities of Engineer business intelligence and data quality are:
- Design and implement reporting and analytical solutions, including both the design of table structures and the processes used to populate those structure with data from internal and external sources.
- Participation in data warehouse design.
- Collect, analyse and shares data to help business teams drive improvement in key business metrics, customer experience and business results.
- Develop and test BI solutions such as queries, views, reports and dashboards.
- Design and build reporting and analysis tools that help streamline the business and make reporting, analysing, planning and forecasting more efficient.
- Generate and deliver quality reports for business performance monitoring and business decision making.
- Identify and resolve data reporting issues.
- Stay updated with business operations and intelligence processes.
- Work with Project Manager in developing and executing project plans
- Ensure the collected data is within required quality standards.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field.
- 3-5 years of related technical experience.
- Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling and data mining).
- Strong understanding of Business Intelligence best practice principles
- Advanced skills in data analysis and data mining..
- Analytical mind with problem solving aptitude.
- Hands on experience supporting or working with business intelligence / Data Warehousing environment.
