Job Description
This role is responsible for operations of the systems admin (Storage and Backup) activities, defines systems admin policies, processes and procedures, manages disaster recovery and User Acceptance Tests, Formulation, recommendation and implementation of Linux Key Management policies and guidelines in order to ensure that Storage and Backup Administration objectives are met in support of the achievement of the Bank’s business objectives

Perform operations of the systems admin (Linux) functional area, defines systems admin policies, processes and procedures |
|
Assists systems admin (Linux) teams in root cause analysis, and resolution of problems |
|
Organizes and plans the work of Linux Administrator (direct reports) so that resources are optimally utilized and ensures that the work carried out in compliance with all relevant procedures |
|
Compliance with procedures and regulations |
|
Guides the systems admin (Linux) teams to planning and setting corresponding standards in alignment with relevant stakeholders (IT Quality Officer, Infrastructure Architect, SPD other functional areas and IS Development) |
|
Internal customer feedback |
|
Provides guidance and coaching to systems administrators (Linux) regarding deliverables and related processes |
|
Advises systems capacity of performance and trends monitoring and reporting |
|
Undertakes complex and non-routine Linux operational and administrative activities conducting additional research where necessary, to support ongoing business activities and provide high quality service to internal customers |
|
Oversee the management of issues including incident definition, tracking, escalation, resolution and closure |
Skills
- Solid knowledge in various Operating Systems such as Linux, and Linux Server systems
- In-depth knowledge of storage and backup strategies for enterprises
- Ability to do performance monitoring and analysis for storage across multiple operating systems environments
- Solid knowledge in blade servers’ systems architectures
- Possesses technical knowledge to monitor the systems
- Ability to do performance monitoring and analysis for systems
- Deep technical knowledge in Email server design, configuration and backup
- Strong Knowledge in Microsoft Suite of infrastructure servers including:
- Active Directory Administration
- Active Directory Certificate Authority Server
- System Center Configuration Manager
- Threat Management Server
- Forefront Suite
