RSS Overview
What is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is a system which delivers the latest news and features to your computer, rather like an old fashioned news wire.
RSS works by getting your computer to download what is called an XML feed onto an RSS reader.
The feed is then updated every time new jobs appear, so all you have to do is load your RSS reader and read – you don’t need to visit the individual websites.
You can also subscribe to as many RSS feeds as you want to, meaning that you can get content from all of your favourite sites in one place.
How to use RSS feeds:
To view an RSS feed you need a ‘feed reader’ or an ‘aggregator’- software which translates the data into a readable format.
RSS readers are usually available as downloads or are sometimes attached to already existing internet software. If you haven’t used one before, try Google Reader.
Once you have an RSS reader, subscribing to our job feeds is easy. Simply click on the distinctive orange RSS logo
on the website or section that you want to subscribe to.
