ALM Analyst (Asset & Liability Management)

The job holder is responsible for the day to day control and reporting of all structural risk being managed by the ALM department.

Key responsibilities include the following:-

1. Control and reporting of the bank’s Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) framework;

2. Analyzing, monitoring and reporting on the bank’s Structural Balance Sheet Risks covering long term liquidity & funding risks as well as interest rate and fx risks of the banking book and Capital planning.

• Preparations of forecasts (simulations) showing the effects of various possible changes in market conditions (e.g. interest rates, fx rates, business volumes, customer behaviour) on the balance sheet and recommend action needed to adhere to the bank’s internal limits and regulatory limits or guidance;

• Produce analytics that support recommendations consistent with management's directives that are consistent with the Board of Directors, ALCO and the Bank's regulatory bodies.

3. Control and reporting of the Long Term Investment Portfolio and Debts Issues of the Bank, providing regular updates and reports to the Head of ALM, CFO and ALCO;

The above responsibilities require a combination of data management, analytics, reporting, knowledge and awareness of economic conditions and financial market responses as well as trade execution.

Skills:

• Knowledge of financial services covering both retail and business banking products;

• Knowledge of Treasury instruments (e.g. money market and capital markets as well as derivatives);

• Knowledge of ALM systems (e.g. KRM, SUNGARD, QRM);

• Knowledge of ALM techniques and conventions;

• Knowledge of settlement and MI systems (e.g. Kondor, Reuters, Bloomberg);

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

• Degree educated, preferably in a related subjects covering Accounting or Finance;

• Very good command of English (both written and verbal).

Desirable / optional:-

• Previous relevant practical experience in Treasury or Asset & Liability Management;
